Does Aki Kaurismäki like reggae? Doesn't seem so. Having thoroughly blitzed his films over Christmas (blog evidence here and here) I couldn't detect even the hint of a downbeat/offbeat or dubbed moment among all his many music choices. Shame. I'd like to see him throw a bit of echo or reverb into his film soundtracks. Nevertheless, I think we can safely assume that Kati Outinen digs dub. Yes, it's a richer dust concealed ...
